Learning Experience Design

Surgical Training

At a leading surgical technology company, I contributed to a series of immersive XR projects that supported surgical innovation across multiple domains, including education and training, procedural design, and marketing and sales enablement. These projects utilized virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (XR), and passthrough technologies to create interactive experiences that translated complex surgical workflows into engaging and accessible formats. From immersive training simulators to product visualization tools, the work empowered surgeons, engineers, and stakeholders with new ways to explore, learn, and communicate.Across these initiatives, I worked closely with CAD designers, industrial engineers, and R&D teams to bring surgical instruments, robotic systems, and anatomical environments into real-time XR applications. Using Unity (C#), Blender, and CAD integration pipelines, I developed high-fidelity 3D assets, interactive simulations, and intuitive user interfaces optimized for both clinical realism and device performance. My work spanned various XR platforms, including standalone VR headsets, passthrough AR devices, and hybrid tools for remote collaboration and in-field demonstrations, tailored to different audiences and use cases. These projects pushed the boundaries of immersive design in a highly technical and regulated field, requiring close alignment with surgical educators, product managers, and sales strategists. Whether crafting a hands-on simulator for surgeon training, designing a prototype visualization tool for internal engineering, or building a product storytelling experience for trade shows, I helped create impactful XR experiences that merged storytelling with utility. This cross-functional work sharpened my ability to think holistically, bridging design, technology, and real-world healthcare impact.‍
